Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 pupils.

Pupils investigate local habitats and explore the diversity of plant and animal life through practical outdoor activities. Working as young scientists, they observe environmental conditions, classify living things and gather evidence through structured fieldwork.

Through hands-on enquiry, pupils develop a deeper understanding of how plants and habitats are connected and how changes to the environment can affect living things.

  • Plant and species identification
  • Habitat comparison investigations
  • Environmental condition observation
  • Classification of living things
  • Fieldwork investigation tasks
